Join us for our popular hands-on beginner herbalist series incorporating practical medicine-making skills and an in-depth overview of working with plant medicine. These classes will provide a foundational framework, taking students straight to the heart of herbal medicine with the tools and knowledge to start creating their own apothecary at home.
Each class will include a demonstration, where participants will be guided through making an herbal product to take home.
- Starts Monday, February 2nd (meets every Monday*), 5-7pm (postponed a week due to Winter storm)
- Taught by Christiane Wurmstedt, owner & founder of Rosalie Botanicals
- Cost: sliding scale $325 - $225 for full series (6 classes),** supplies included. Students enjoy a 10% discount on herbs throughout the series.
- Classes are held at a private residence on the Lafitte Greenway, which now houses Rosalie Botanicals. Address will be provided upon registration.

Intuitive Healing & the Taste of Herbs Monday, Feb. 2nd, 5-7pm
This class sets a solid foundation for understanding the unique properties of plant medicine and how to incorporate them to achieve balance in each individual person. Through sipping tea, we will explore the 6 tastes of plants and their corresponding actions in the body. This class highlights Western Herbal Medicine as well as Southern Folk traditions. Together as a class we will develop a delicious tea blend for everyone to take home!
Kitchen Medicine: The Root of Health Monday, Feb. 9th, 5-7pm
Good health starts in the kitchen. In this class, we will discuss the digestive system as the root of health and the medicinal benefits of common culinary herbs. We will make the tried and true health tonic, Fire Cider, for everyone to take home.

Spirit Medicine: Managing Stress & Mental Health Monday, Feb. 23rd, 5-7pm
Learn ways to use herbs and flower essences to help the body cope with stress and grief as well as nurture mental and emotional balance. Everyone will take home with a freshly made, local flower essence.
Syrups & Immune Health Monday, Mar. 2nd, 5-7pm
This class will discuss how to use herbs for immune health - from cold & flu season, to allergies and even autoimmune conditions. We will also explore how to make and use syrups as potent and versatile herbal medicines.
Healthy Skin from the Inside Out Monday, Mar. 9th 5-7pm
Your skin is your largest organ and can reflect both external and internal irritations. This class will demonstrate how to use herbs internally as well as make healing oils and salves to heal our skin both from the inside and out.
Tincture Making 101: Preserve Your Medicine Monday, March 9th, 5-7pm
Tinctures, or alcohol* extracts, are a very convenient and effective form of plant medicine, used to address a variety of ailments, especially acute conditions that require immediate attention and ease of use. Come learn the ins and outs of tincture making to build up your home apothecary. *We can accommodate students who wish to make an alcohol free tincture.
