This is an invitation to deepen into the gifts of winter solstice, to spend time outside of time, resetting our Ritual practice. Working with Hawthorn as a guide in the seen and unseen realms, we will journey to the Cauldron of Change and the Well of Memory to invoke the gifts of Transformation in our personal and collective healing. The cauldron of change and the well of memory exist in vivid and embodied otherworlds and are held by Bridget of the flame and Cernunnos of the wild. This class/ritual will provide gifts and tools to utilize through the gate of solstice.
During the solstice, in the darkest cycle of the year, new light emerges from the womb of winter. The energy that pours through the dark centers Stillness in the hearth of the heart. Orion is a reign of light bending through the winter night sky. We honour this time of the year as a gateway for renewal and regeneration to flow through our lives and the lives of our communities.
What you will need: Space without disruptions, a candle, and a bowl of water. Please note this ritual will be virtual and take place via Zoom. More information, including zoom link, will be emailed a few days prior to the ritual.
About the facilitator~ MaeDea is a poet, seer, and artist who was initiated into a thread of queer ecstatic magic after a decade of training. Within music, art, and movement, their trauma-informed work weaves queer visions and erotic embodiment into forms of personal, collective, and ecological healing. As they have migrated wide physical geographies, their work too has taken on a vast multi-disciplinary landscape: They are a practicing Death Doula and Erotic somatics worker; intertwining plant work as a modality of healing. Their sculptural installations have been a bridge between their ancestral practice of honoring the gates of Beltane and Samhain. With a contemporary abolitionist lens, MaeDea ov Moon is continually investigating what it means to be an artist living on occupied land.
